Icky, sticky tar

It’s possible everybody except me has known this helpful hint since day One, but in case you don’t…

NB had to replace an attic vent on the roof Thursday.  He came down with tar all over his hands (and clothing, but that’s another story.)  We discovered that the best way for getting it off of hands is to use cooking oil.  Just pour some in your palm and rub it into all the tar spots, then wipe hands with a paper towel and finally wash with dish detergent and warm water.  It may take more than one application, but it works great!

It doesn’t work on clothing very well.  Too bad.  Anybody have hints for getting it off clothing?
