A Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts

This is the title of a book that will be out in October.  It sounds like a wonderful book, with a variety of content that will provide something for everybody.  I do love this winter holiday with its family gatherings and general good will, even though our family doesn’t celebrate December 25th as the birthday of Jesus.  (We don’t because there is no Biblical command nor example of first century Christians doing that.  Surely, if the Lord had wanted us to celebrate the birthday, He would have told us a date and said to do it.  Instead, He’s told us to celebrate the death, burial and resurrection with Him every Sunday of the year.  Maybe we’ll do a historical and scriptural study of this topic later.)

Why am I talking about a Christmas book in the first place?  It’s leading up to my next post, which is an interview with the ladies who compiled it.  Enjoy!

  5. Donna, Thanks for hosting this blog tour. Just a note to say that in one of the chapter sections Gingerbread Genealogy we give the history of Christmas and that Jesus’ birthday celebration is a date chosen by men. We want to promote the truth about Christmas but also promote Jesus at this time of year when it’s sooooo much more acceptable in the general public to talk about him….thanks again for hosting this interview…Cathy Messecar, co-author
