Only rarely is an author able to capture both pride in heritage and intriguing action within the same work. D.H. Parker has done just that, and her subject matter fascinates me, especially since it involves the ancient Clan Cameron. Bringing to life a heroic figure from Scotland’s brave past, but in a very modern-day setting, Mrs. Parker features colorful characters that leap from her pages in a family-friendly manner. Granted, it is with a “wee bit” of bias that I applaud her work since it’s focused on two unique eras of clansfolk bearing my surname. However, I do heartily recommend this book to anyone, of any age, bearing Scottish roots or having even a remote interest in that illustrious country. Her tale will stand the test of time for generations to come, just as the ancient Clan Cameron has done, both in the Scottish Highlands and here, across the Western Sea, in North America.
